Round 3, pick No. 76: Cade Johnson – WR, South Dakota State

Even after signing the premier wide receiver available in free agency, Kenny Golladay, and adding John Ross as a value signing with upside, the NY Giants could add yet another wide receiver to Daniel Jones’ arsenal early in the draft.

Johnson was one of the standouts in Mobile, Ala. during the Senior Bowl, following a prolific 2019 campaign that put him on the teams’ radar across the league.

At 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, Johnson caught 72 passes for1,222 yards and eight touchdowns in 2019, as the focal point of South Dakota State’s aerial attack.

Given the additions the Giants made at wide receiver this offseason, Johnson could push for the No. 5 receiver job behind Darius Slayton, elevating the talent of this position’s depth chart even higher, while also contributing in the return-game immediately.
