Round 4, pick No. 116: Jordan Smith – Edge rusher, UAB

Pass rush was one of the NY Giants’ glaring deficiencies the past two seasons, and short of signing Leonard Williams to a long-term deal, this is still a position that could use an upgrade in the NFL Draft.

A productive pass-rusher at UAB, Jordan Smith recorded 12.5 sacks in two seasons, along with 89 total tackles and 23.5 tackles for loss, as he flashed the ability to be disrupter up front and a playmaker in the backfield.

Pro Football Focus gave Smith a 91.4 pass-rush grade in 2019, and if he can add some strength to his 6-foot-7 and 255-pound frame, he could be one of the diamonds in this class’s pass-rush rough, and push for immediate snaps in the Giants’ front-seven.
