Hunter  Long Tight End

Scouting Report

Last year, the Giants’ tight end Evan Engram made his first Pro Bowl, and played in every game after injury concerns in the prior two seasons. Despite this, his performance was underwhelming and there is a possibility that he may not be re-signed in the next offseason.

Enter Hunter Long, a junior tight end from Boston College who could be just the type of offensive playmaker the Giants are looking for.

Long had a standout 2020 season, hauling in 57 receptions for 685 yards and 5 touchdowns. At 6’5″ and 254 lbs, Long utilizes his physicality grab tough contested catches, an area where Engram struggled in 2020.

Though there are concerns about Long’s aggressiveness, especially pertaining to run-blocking, if he were selected by the Giants, he would have the opportunity to learn behind veteran Kyle Rudolph, who the Giants signed this offseason, and become a reliable offensive weapon.
