Round 6, pick No. 197: Joshua Kaindoh, edge rusher, Florida State
At some point, Gettleman and the NY Giants need to add a pass-rusher.
The Giants are hoping that both Lorenzo Carter and Oshane Ximines return from injury and make significant strides in 2021, but this is a group that needs a wholesale upgrade, and an infusion of young talent.
Kaindoh is an intriguing prospect, at 6-foot-6 and 260 pounds, he has the length that the NY Giants seem to covet from their outside linebackers, and he does a nice job of leveraging it to fight off blocks and get downhill into the backfield rather quickly.
Last season, Kaindoh didn’t produce a sack, but he did record 8.5 in four seasons at Tallahassee, and his 4.7 40-time offers hope that he can develop into a difference-maker at the next level.
