Round 3, pick No. No. 71: Aaron Robinson, CB, UCF

Obviously, the NY Giants felt that cornerback depth remained a need, and traded up in Round 3 to snag versatile Aaron Robinson with the 71st pick.

Robinson, 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, could be best fit in the nickel because of his physicality both in coverage and propensity to make plays in the box against the run. It wouldn’t even be a surprise if defensive coordinator Patrick Graham uses him on some exotic corner blitz packages.

Last season, Robinson broke up nine passes, and his ball-skills will be a welcomed addition in a secondary. There’s. a good chance that Robinson replaces Sam Beal and pushes for playing time in the slot immediately.
