The NY Giants have had a strong 2021 NFL draft class. With that, the team has added Kadarius Toney, Azeez Ojulari, Aaron Robinson, Elerson Smith, Gary Brightwell, and Rodarious Williams to their roster.

All six rookies will have expectations for different types of roles heading into year one of their NFL careers. There will be some starters, some depth players, and some reserve players likely from this class. The NY Giants added a wide receiver, two EDGE pass rushers, two cornerbacks, and a running back to their roster.

However, the Giants are not done.

In fact, the team will end up signing much more undrafted free agents today than the players they drafted. There will be a flurry of moves and action right after the draft ends today. In this spur of the moment, teams have already made calls to players who should’ve been rafted but slipped to undrafted territory.

Stay tuned here for all the latest on the NY Giants UDFA signings, news, rumors, and updates

Brett Heggie – C, Florida

The NY Giants didn’t sign an offensive lineman during the 2021 NFL Draft, but added a center as their first undrafted free agent signing.

Heggie made 31 starts during his time in Gainsville, including every contest for the Gators in 2020.

Raymond Johnson – DE

The NY Giants chose a pair of pass rushers during the 2021 NFL Draft, and added a third, by signing Georgia Southern’s Raymond Johnson as an undrafted free agent.

Johnson produced a team-high 14.5 tackles for loss and five sacks in 13 starts in 2020. An explosive first step helps Johnson overpower opposing offensive tackles and is his best attribute as a pass-rusher. Look for him to compete for a roster spot, and contribute on special teams.

Jake Burton – OL

Burton’s position versatility gives him the chance to make the NY Giants’ roster, particularly with uncertainty over whether Will Hernandez or Shane Lemieux can secure either of the starting guard spots following disappointing 2020 campaigns.

Paying Burton $40,000 as a UDFA is a rather strong commitment, and indicator of how the NY Giants feel about the former UCLA/Baylor lineman.
