Melvin Ingram III

Once upon a time, Ingram III was part of a feared pass-rushing duo in Los Angeles – he and Joey Bosa striking fear into opponents each week. He briefly held out before the 2020 season looking for an extension, but after opting to play he was ineffective – the two sides parting ways after the season.

While Ingram III may be out of the Giants’ price range, if his market fails to materialize the team could capitalize. While he’s not the force he was earlier in his career, he’d still be an effective piece in the team’s defense.

The Giants added pass-rushers Azeez Ojulari and Elerson Smith in the draft, but they could sign Ingram III while they continue to develop. Patrick Graham would be elated to have a bunch of new toys to deploy at will to terrorize the opposing team’s signal caller.

Last season, the team’s pass rushing unit was so depleted that players like Jabaal Sheard were tasked with playing almost the entire game. With so many unknowns facing the unit, Ingram III would provide a proven, tried and true quarterback terrorizer.

If the cap guru Kevin Abrams could figure out a way to make the money work, Ingram III is somebody that could help give the Giants that long elusive pass rush they’ve been looking for.
