Pros of NY Giants trading for Aaron Rodgers

As previously mentioned, adding Rodgers makes the NY Giants immediate playoff contenders and perhaps the favorite in the NFC East.

After years of contending with bruising defenses in Chicago and Minnesota (and sometimes in Detroit), he’d have a breeze contending with those in Dallas and Philadelphia.

While the offensive in New York is no sturdier than his protection with the Packers, Rodgers will have an arguably stronger receiving core with Kenny Galladay and Kadarius Toney now in tow, despite not having a WR quite at the level of Devante Adams.

The tight end  room has improved with the addition of Kyle Rudolph, but prospective Evan Engram has star potential if he can stay healthy.

Darius Slayton could be part of a package for the Green Bay gunslinger (more on that later), but even still, the arsenal at Rodgers’ disposal in a scenario where he is rocking red, white and blue would allow him an opportunity to once again compete for titles.

While Daniel Jones has developed chemistry with the likes of Engram, Slayton, and Sterling Shephard during his two-year career, the Duke product has not shown the arm nor mobility to ever become the dual-threat superstar Rodgers has become…and remains even at the tender age of 37.
