1) Daniel Jones – QB

The NY Giants are expecting Daniel Jones to make a monumental leap, which quarterbacks typically do in their second season, in his third.

Nothing else matters when it comes to the trajectory of the franchise and the NY Giants’ chances of competing in 2021, than Jones proving once and for all that he has the ability to be a top-10 quarterback in this league, after being chosen with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Turnovers continue to dog Jones, who has lost 17 fumbles through his first two seasons, and tossed 22 interceptions over that span.

The NY Giants invested significant resources — upwards of $45 million guaranteed to Golladay, a first-round pick on Toney, and signing Rudolph, to position Jones to make great strides in 2021. If he does, and Barkley is healthy on offense, this is arguably one of the 10-most dangerous supporting casts in the league, and the NY Giants have the potential to make a playoff run.

However, if Jones falters, continues to turn the football over, and the offense continues its epic scoring struggles of the past two seasons, the NY Giants are exceptionally well positioned — with two first-round picks in 2022 — to draft Jones’ successor.

Jones’ long-term staying power in New York, and the NY Giants’ fortunes in 2021 and beyond are tied to him playing like a franchise quarterback and former first-round pick.
