Former NY Giants offensive tackle Cameron Fleming is among the linemen in Denver for a workout with the Broncos in the aftermath of Ja’Wuan James’ injury

The Denver Broncos are holding a massive workout Tuesday, in search of a replacement for injured offensive tackle Ja’Wuan James, including former NY Giants right tackle Cam Fleming.

Fleming, 28, spent one season with the NY Giants, after signing as a free agent last spring. He appeared in 913 total offensive snaps, allowing six sacks, four quarterback hits, and 35 total pressures during the 2020 NFL season.

Pro Football Focus gave Fleming a 58.4 overall grade, including a 56.6 pass-blocking mark, for his lone season in a Giants uniform.

It is unlikely at this point that the NY Giants will bring Fleming back, but the possibility remains, after the organization did not choose an offensive tackle during the NFL Draft earlier this month. However, the NY Giants’ decision to bring Nate Solder back, one year after the veteran opted out due to COVID-19, and confidence in second-year tackle Matt Peart, make it likely Fleming is elsewhere this season.

Fleming is joined Tuesday, in Denver, by veteran offensive tackles Dennis Kelly, Bobbie Massie, Jermaine Eluemunor, and others.

The Broncos have a glaring need at offensive tackle, after James ruptured his Achilles tendon while working out on his own, away from the team’s facility, earlier this month and was placed on the Non-Football Injury List.
