Sam Darnold’s New Jersey return, and first game at MetLife Stadium since being traded by the New York Jets to the Carolina Panthers.
You can almost picture the storylines being written in the New York tabloids, once again revisiting whether the NY Giants made the right call by selecting running back Saquon Barkley No. 2 overall, over Darnold.
Darnold certainly is in a far better — and more stable — situation with the Panthers than he ever had with the Jets, but the NY Giants have the deeper roster and a defense that is dominant enough at all three levels to limit Carolina’s offense … Perhaps even force some game-altering Darnold turnovers.
The NY Giants take care of business in this one, and drain the clock late with a heavy dose of Barkley and Devontae Booker …
