NY Giants Schedule: Ranking Every Opponents’ Quarterbacks
#4. Matt Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
Matt Stafford has finally left the cold, empty abyss that is Detroit Lions football.
The Lions struggled to provide Stafford with viable help and support both on offense and defense. They never adequately replaced Calvin Johnson along with not having a viable running game in almost a decade. The Lions haven’t had a 1,000-yard rusher since Reggie Bush way back in 2013.
Stafford left a desolate team for one of the top teams in the leagues with a much better weather situation. Stafford will team up with the brilliant football mind of Sean McVay in Los Angeles.
Stafford will be throwing to the likes of Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, Van Jefferson, Tutu Atwell, and Desean Jackson. It’s an exciting pass-catching group that is versatile and dynamic. Add in Cam Akers and Darrel Henderson and Stafford should instantly have his best run game in several years.
Stafford has long been one of the NFL’s best, toughest, and gunslinging quarterbacks. He is able to make every throw on the field and can sling the pigskin as hard and deep as anyone. Pat Graham must put together a strong game plan to stop a potent LA Rams offense.
