Wide receiver Sterling Shepard is among the prominent players in attendance during the NY Giants’ voluntary offseason workouts this week

The NY Giants reportedly have over 40 players in attendance for this week’s voluntary offseason workouts, including several prominent players.

Wednesday, NY Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard confirmed he is among those in attendance, posting a photo to his Instagram Story sitting by his locker and wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with his new No. 3.

Shepard’s attendance is noteworthy, given the NFLPA’s advising players to stay away from team facilities this offseason in an attempt to boycott the voluntary workouts.

However, one prominent agent recently told FanSided that he has encouraged his clients not to heed the NFLPA’s advice on the matter.

“I told them to act on their own accord,” the agent says. “And absolutely never, ever, ever listen to the NFLPA.”

Shepard caught 66 passes for 656 yards and three touchdowns last season. The 28-year-old will collect a $25,000 workout bonus, which likely played a key factor in his decision to participate in the Giants’ offseason workouts.
