13 1st Rounders for the NY Giants is a ridiculous amount for any NFL team.

The NY Giants are set to have a new-look roster in 2021. This team is completely different from last year’s team all over the roster.

The Giants currently have 13 players on their roster that were once 1st Round picks. The time span of these players entering the league range from 2011 to the 2021 1st round choice in Kadarius Toney.

Each player arrived in New York at different times, under different circumstances, and at different positions. Altogether, these 13 players need to maximize their talents and field a strong team in 2021.

Here, we look at each NY Giants former first-rounder, and their projected role for 2021.

(Writer’s Note: Each player is in chronological order by year entering the NFL).

Nate Solder, Offensive Tackle

Draft Spot: #17 Pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Selected by the NE Patriots

Arrival in New York: 2018 NFL Free Agency

Projected Role: Swing Tackle

Nate Solder is our first, and oldest, former 1st rounder on this list.

Solder is entering year 10 of his NFL career. He is in the twilight of his career and needs to start paying positive dividends for the New York Giants.

Solder opted out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to protect himself and his son. Solder took a massive pay cut to return to New York for what could be a final NFL season.

Solder’s tenure in New York will likely be defined by his disappointing record-breaking contract given to him by Dave Gettleman. Solder has the chance to start at right tackle where he will compete with Matt Peart. Solder’s experience and versatility on both sides bode well for his chances to be the Giants’ top swing tackle off the bench to play snaps on either side of the offensive line.
