Danny Shelton, Defensive Tackle

Draft Spot: #12 in 2015 Draft. Selected by the Cleveland Browns

Arrival in New York: Signed as a free agent in 2021

Projected Role: Nose Tackle, 1-Gap Defensive Tackle. Starter or Key Rotational Player

Danny Shelton joins New York after latching onto three different teams in the last few seasons. Shelton comes over from Detroit where he spent one season in 2020 before spending time in New England and Cleveland.

Joe Judge is familiar with Shelton’s game. He is a run-stuffing, space-clogging force in the middle of the defensive line that will anchor any run game. Shelton may not start, but he should build up a substantial role on the interior of the Giants’ defensive line.
