The NY Giants took deserving criticism for not upgrading the Offensive Line

The NY Giants are making a loud and clear statement on their much-criticized Offensive Line.

To outsiders, it’s a young, unproven group with little experience or proven NFL commodities. The Giants may have made a mistake by not adding a starting-caliber lineman in the draft or free agency.

To those at 1925 Giants Drive, they will swear to you they are confident in what they have with the big uglies up front.

Dave Gettleman has boldly remarked all offseason his confidence level in this current offensive line. He is banking on his recent draft picks’ development and their ability to mesh together into a cohesive unit.

It’s a risky decision to not add any lineman in the 2021 draft. The Kadarius Toney draft selection surprised many after the Giants trade down in Round 1. Would they have been better off selecting a stud tackle or guard? We’ll see and only time will tell.

It will up to the returning lineman to put the noise to rest and ease the outsiders’ concerns about handling opposing defenses each week in the NFL. This team and offense will sink and swim with their existing offensive line.

The offensive line will help take this offense to new levels and give adequate time for Daniel Jones to throw and create holes for Saquon Barkley to run through. Or, the team will struggle again with inexperience and a lack of talent to stop high-end NFL pass rushers and it will severely hamper this offense.
