Ranking 4 worst NY Giants fan trips on 2021 NFL Schedule
By Ryan Messick
8. Philadelphia, PA (December 26)
My journalism background tells me that I must now disclose to you that I have previously resided in Philadelphia, and still live in the area.
Given that I’ve ranked it just above Landover, I trust we can agree I’m not being biased.
It’s a great city! No, seriously, I know the reputation – especially among rival fanbases, but it’s changed a ton in the last 10-15 years, and the dining and entertainment options are quite good.
If you do visit this year for the December 26th game, there are some cool holiday activities near City Hall. But, I cannot in good conscience recommend them over the holiday activities in Manhattan, nor can I recommend late December as an optimal time to visit Philadelphia. If you want to do a sports-themed trip to Philadelphia, catch a mid-summer Mets-Phillies game. Of course, no trip to Philadelphia is complete without a cheesesteak. My favorite, among the famous spots, is Jim’s Steaks on South Street.
Perhaps the best thing this potential trip has going for it is that it has the potential to be a huge game late in the season with playoff implications for one or both teams. If you ask me, it’s a great day trip or overnight trip, but if you’re looking to make a weekend out of a Giants road game, you can do better.
