The NY Giants are expecting big things from their quarterback in 2021.

The NY Giants are heading into year two with Daniel Jones as the full-time, unquestioned starter, as the former first-round pick begins a pivotal third season of his career.

At every chance taken this offseason and last, Head Coach Joe Judge has adamantly stated that Jones will be the Giants’ quarterback in 2021. There won’t be any trades, no veteran competitions, but a lot of high expectations and hopes for the upcoming third-year quarterback.

Behind Jones, there are some new names and also familiar faces.

It will be up to Jerry Schlupinski and Jason Garrett to coach, develop, and mesh the group to command the offense. This is the most important position group in football and their value to any team is immeasurable.

Here is a look at the NY Giants QB group for 2021.

NY Giants’ 2020 Quarterback Review

QB Room: Daniel Jones, Colt McCoy, Alex Tanney (Practice Squad), Joe Webb (Practice Squad)

The Giants did not have the offense anyone envisioned in 2020.

New York’s offense struggled mightily and finished as the league’s 31st ranked offense.

Jones did not have as good a season as he did his rookie year and his turnover issues remained a problem. Jones provided plenty of promise with downfield throws and an ability to gain big runs. His running ability can add an element to this offense the Giants have lacked since the days of Jeff Hostetler.

Unfortunately, Jones hurt his hamstring during the Giants’ four-game winning streak. Jones missed the next game where Colt McCoy heroically led the Giants to a signature upset in Seattle. McCoy started the following week on Sunday Night Football against the Browns but was unable to recapture magic two weeks in a row.

Jones returned back into the lineup and was unable to carry his momentum from the earlier win streak. He struggled to run and move in the pocket as the entire Giants’ offense suffered through 14 sacks in two weeks. Overall, the group did not do as good a job as hoped for.
