2021 QB Reserves: Mike Glennon and Clayton Thorson

Mike Glennon and Clayton Thorson will be the offense’s two primary backup quarterbacks in this summer’s training camp. Both players are veterans with Glennon having 27 games of starting experience compared to Thorson’s lack of snaps on an NFL field.

Mike Glennon should take on the same role Colt McCoy held in 2020 as the veteran QB2.

Mike has played in 34 NFL games, he’s thrown for over 6,000 yards, and thrown 43 touchdowns. Glennon started his career off in Tampa Bay where he stayed with the Bucs for four years from 2013-2016 before staying with four different teams on one-year deals ever since 2017.

Thorson was a 2019 5th round draft choice for the Eagles. He was waived during final cuts in August 2019 and signed with the Cowboys practice squad the next day. Jason Garrett was the Cowboys Head Coach at the time and brought Thorson to New York as the practice squad QB during the 2020 season. Thorson has experience in Garrett’s Air Coryell offense and this will be his third season in the system.
