2021 NY Giants QB Group

Starter (QB1): Daniel Jones

Backup (QB2): Mike Glennon

Practice squad QB: Clayton Thorson

There’s really not much to read into here.

Daniel Jones is the Team Captain and leader for the offense. He is the top dog in the room and will be given every chance possible to succeed.

Mike Glennon and his solid experience in the NFL bodes well for his chances as the second quarterback on the roster. Glennon can help offer advice to Jones with his experience as a starter and a backup, while also experiencing the highs and lows of being a journeyman quarterback.

Clayton Thorson could latch on to one of the team’s final roster spots if the Giants choose to go with the quarterbacks on the roster. It isn’t something they did last year under Coach Judge nor is it something they have done in several years. Carrying a third QB is often seen as an unnecessary luxury and the Giants can stash Thorson on the practice squad as they did in 2020.
