9) Can Lorenzo Carter or Oshane Ximines reach double-digit sacks?

While the NY Giants drafted Azeez Ojulari in the second-round of the NFL Draft this spring, the organization did not invest significant free agent resources, or a first-round pick, in an edge rusher, despite an obvious need.

Both Carter and Ximines suffered season-ending injuries last season, and both were back on the field this spring.

However, neither player has produced more than 4.5 sacks in a single season.

Ojulari certainly figures into the pass-rush rotation, as does free agent addition Ifeadi Odenigbo, but whether either Carter or Ximines can develop into a consistently dominant pass-rush presence that keeps them on the field for the majority of the defensive snaps and anchors the front-seven remains to be seen.

Championship caliber defenses are built around a dominant pass rush, typically with several players capable of pushing for double-digit sacks. The NY Giants have yet to show they have that kind of talent in place.
