NY Giants player in need of a strong training camp #4: Evan Engram, TE
With Kyle Rudolph now joining the tight end room, Evan Engram needs to re-establish himself as a top Daniel Jones option. Engram did not have a great fourth year in the pros and didn’t start all 16 on the NY Giants schedule.
After pulling down one touchdown in 2020, it’s possible that all of the offseason signings could further take Engram’s opportunities away. Luckily, Engram has shown the ability to be deployed as a rush threat, but he needs to prove versatile enough to have a similar role in the offense going forward.
NY Giants player in need of a strong training camp #5: Ifeadi Odenigbo, EDGE
After two years with the Minnesota Vikings and a rookie season spent with the Arizona Cardinals, Ifeadi Odenigbo has joined the NY Giants at a time where the defense is starting to resemble one capable of engineering a playoff run.
The problem is that the former seventh-rounder has plenty of competition in the form of Azeez Ojulari and Elerson Smith. Odenigbo is at the point in his career where he needs consistent playing time to land a sizeable payday.
He won’t get anything close to that if he doesn’t perform well in training camp.
