Eli Manning returns to NY Giants in a New Role. Ring of Honor and Jersey Retirement Ceremony set for Week 3.
The NY Giants’ all-time greatest quarterback, Eli Manning is officially back.
Back, back, back.
The NY Giants are set to welcome back one of their all-time greatest players in Eli Manning this season.
The Giants‘ longest-tenured player and two-time Super Bowl Champion and MVP quarterback has moved on from his playing days into a new organizational role.
Manning is set to take on business operations and fan engagement initiatives with the NY Giants’ organization. Manning will help bridge the relationships between the Giants, their partners, and work with the community, marketing, and corporate relations.
Accompanying Manning’s new role in the organization will come his much-deserved No. 10 jersey retirement and a Ring of Honor Ceremony. Both monumental events will take place in Week 3, during the Giants game vs the Falcons at MetLife Stadium.
This will be a must-watch for any NY Giants fan, so circle this game on your calendar.
Team Owner and CEO John Mara seems very excited about Manning’s return. Eli retired after the 2019 season and spent 2020 without the Giants for the first time since 2003.
"“For 16 seasons, Eli represented and defined what it meant to be a Giant and we are excited for him to join the business side of our front office,” said John Mara, the Giants’ president and chief executive officer. “Eli is one of the most beloved players in Giants history. We had a mutual interest in him returning to the organization and we’re thrilled to welcome him back.”"
The Giants’ Chairman and Executive VP Steve Tisch also displayed his excitement for Manning’s return.
"“We are proud Eli was our quarterback for so many years and now look forward to his next chapter as a Giant,” said Steve Tisch, Giants chairman and executive vice president. “Eli is the ultimate team player and will be a huge addition to the organization as we continue to elevate and strengthen our business operation.”"
