Ifeadi Odenigbo hasn’t played a snap for the NY Giants yet, but that doesn’t mean he can’t already be a hidden gem.

Odenigbo has flown under the radar much of this offseason. NY Giants fans may want to start giving their new pass-rusher some more respect, as only Leonard Williams has that many NFL sacks in the last two years.

Odenigbo comes over from Minnesota where he played with a talented front seven and sometimes got lost in the mix with some really good players. Odenigbo racked up 7 sacks in 2019 despite starting zero games. He started all 15 games in 2020 and carried over 3.5 more sacks to go with 35 tackles, 15 QB hits, and a safety.

Odenigbo may not be a full-time starter, but he should be one of the top options as part of the Giants’ pass-rushing rotation. Odenigbo has a big strength compared to the rest of the Giants’ EDGE rushers and defensive lineman: He can play both positions. If he can carry over his last two season performances, Odenigbo could be one of the top depth players for the New York Giants this season.
