CB – Adoree’ Jackson:

Why is the pressure on for Adoree’ Jackson?

Jackson’s signing for three years and 39 million has been named the NY Giants’ most head-scratching move of the offseason. $24.5 million guaranteed is a lot for a player coming off of a mysterious knee injury in 2020. Jackson needs to prove that Dave Gettleman didn’t overpay for his CB2 out of desperation after enduring a season with Issac Yiadom and Ryan Lewis in that spot.

What will Jackson have to improve upon in 2021?

The best ability is availability, and Jackson needs to improve in this regard for Big Blue. The speedy corner has struggled to stay healthy during his last two seasons with the Titans. At USC, Jackson started at both WR and CB as a true freshman. An elite athlete, Jackson was an All-American in college track as well. Despite his smaller size, Jackson has flashed CB1 potential during his young NFL career. He just needs to stay healthy.

Will pressure make diamonds?

Jackson will be a great fit in the kind of defense Patrick Graham wants to play. He will allow Graham to play more man-to-man in 2021. By shutting down opposing WR2s, Jackson’s presence should help an unproven pass rush. Can the talented corner stay healthy all 17 games in 2021? I am a bit skeptical.
