Leonard Williams

Now technically a “free agent” as the NY Giants put the franchise tag on him, Williams had a season worthy of his own spot on this list.

Williams broke out in 2020 with 11.5 sacks leading the team.

How he sets the tone in 2021

Signing a three-year, $63 million contract with $45 million guaranteed, the pressure is on Williams to once again perform.  He settled in to his role and I have little doubt his numbers will be there.

The NY Giants added a steal from the 2021 Draft in second round pick Azeez Ojulari, who at the outside linebacker position should come right in and take a huge role as a pass rusher. The NY Giants have youngsters in Lorenzo Carter and Oshane Ximines that when healthy can get to the quarterback.  So with help around him Williams can feel confident it does not all fall on him. He can play free and clear to do what he does best, disrupting plays.
