NY Giants roster: 3 players guaranteed to be better in 2021
2) WR Darius Slayton
After signing free agent prize Kenny Golladay and drafting Kadarius Toney in the first-round, it might come as a bit of a surprise to see Slayton on this list.
However, for as much promise as Slayton showed through the first two seasons of his career, it became wholly obvious that he is not a true No. 1 wide receiver, making the additions of Golladay and Toney necessary.
But, after setting career highs with 50 catches for 751 yards last season, with just three touchdowns, Slayton has the chance to benefit from all the attention paid to Golladay’s side of the field and the speed Toney brings to the slot.
Freed from lining up opposite the defense’s top cornerback, and the pressure of being the focal point of the NY Giants’ aerial attack, Slayton’s third season — when most wide receivers really hit their stride in the NFL — has the chance to be Slayton’s best.
