NY Giants way-too-early 2022 NFL Draft need #3: Backup RB

This one comes down to the recovery of Saquon Barkley. If he can’t prove he’s able to stay healthy, perhaps the backup the Giants pursue is a second or third round pick.

Assuming his comeback goes smoothly–and given his young age, it should–a little late-round insurance wouldn’t be bad in the RB room either.

There could be a strong running back class in 2022, and if the NY Giants play their way out of picking in the top-10, if it is the most glaring need, an early-round pick could be earmarked for Barkley’s top backup.
