4) Drafting WR Kadarius Toney

An argument can be made that if the NY Giants stood pat at No. 11 and drafted Micah Parsons to pair alongside Blake Martinez or one of the remaining offensive tackles to pair alongside Daniel Jones would have been prudent, but taking Toney underscored Gettleman’s commitment to surrounding Daniel Jones with as many weapons as possible.

Toney is exactly that, a versatile weapon.

A legitimate field-stretcher, who ran the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds during the University of Florida’s pro day could push Sterling Shepard for the starting slot receiver job immediately.

Toney will give NY Giants offensive coordinator Jason Garrett the flexibility to utilize him as a perimeter receiver, from the slot, or perhaps even sharing the backfield alongside Saquon Barkley.

Regardless of how the NY Giants do it, getting the ball in Toney’s hands in space has the chance to shift the offense into overdrive … and jump-start Jones’ development.
