Kyle Rudolph is going to play a vital role in the NY Giant’s passing game.

Whether it is continuing the trend of two-tight end sets currently proliferating the NFL or supplanting Evan Engram in the red zone — where Rudolph has caught 40 of his 48 career touchdowns, don’t be surprised if he quickly develops into one of Jones’ favorite targets.

Much of what the NY Giants did this offseason was centered around setting Jones up for success by increasing the caliber of talent in his supporting cast in hopes of both cutting down turnovers and helping the offense level up from averaging just 17.5 points per game in 2020.

Rudolph should help in both regards.

In addition to being a reliable and consistent red-zone threat, Vikings quarterbacks produced a whopping 116 passer rating when targeting Rudolph and he didn’t drop a pass all season.

From that standpoint, and the fact that Engram was charged with eight drops in 2020, it’s easy to see why Rudolph was a priority for the NY Giants
