8) Del Shofner

Years: 1961-1967

Legacy: Five-time Pro Bowl (1958, 1959, 1961-1963); Five-time First-team All-Pro (1958, 1959, 1961-1963)

After making a name for himself with the Los Angeles Rams, Del Shofner came to New York and continued his stellar play.

He made the Pro Bowl and First-team All-Pro rosters in each of his first three years with the team, quickly making the Giants look like geniuses for bringing him in. Unfortunately, injuries derailed his career and he retired from football in 1967 – but he ended with 4315 yards and 35 touchdowns in his Giants’ career.

Shofner never won a championship with the Giants, but his offensive abilities made him one of the most electrifying players in the entire league.
