6) Leonard Marshall

Years: 1983-1992

Legacy: Two-time Super Bowl Champion (XXI, XXV); Two-time Pro Bowl (1985, 1986)

It’s not about how you start, it’s how you finish – Leonard Marshall’s career took that path.

After a disappointing rookie season where he finished with just 0.5 sacks on the year, Marshall steadily improved. By the time the NY Giants were contending for Super Bowls, Marshall established himself as one of the best pass rushers in the entire league.

In his two Pro Bowl seasons, Marshall had 15.5 sacks and 12 sacks – the latter coming in a Super Bowl winning season. He was recognized as the top player at his position – winning the NFL Defensive Lineman of the Year away in 1985.

Marshall’s career may not have started off great, but his hard-work and determination helped him become a Giants’ legend.
