6) Spider Lockhart

Years: 1965-1975

Legacy: Two-time Pro Bowl (1966, 1968)

One of the most popular players on the NY Giants throughout his tenure – Carl ‘Spider’ Lockhart wasn’t just well-liked because of his awesome nickname.

Lockhart shined throughout seasons of despair for the franchise – becoming a Pro Bowl caliber player on two separate occasions. He was also a great returner – famously rarely ever calling for a fair catch.

He ended his career with 41 interceptions in 145 games – unfortunately, the Giants were never good enough to bring Lockhart a championship in his career. He was still a part of a championship team though – as after his death in 1986, the Giants wore a ‘Spider patch’ on their jerseys – the season they won their first Super Bowl.
