4. Melvin Ingram

Ingram has not been healthy in recent years, but he is a great pass rusher when healthy and can provide good pressure on the quarterback.

Pass-rush remains a going concern for the NY Giants, even after choosing Azeez Ojulari in the second-round of the NFL Draft, and the anticipated returns of Lorenzo Carter and Oshane Ximines this season.

But, Ingram would provide a veteran presence and is talented enough to jump to the top of the depth chart.

He would be a nice veteran in the room to lead the young guys like Lorenzo Carter, Oshane Ximines, and Azeez Ojulari.

5. Justin Houston

Along with Ingram, Justin Houston would be a nice veteran signing to help the young group. When he was with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2014, he collected an insane amount of 22 sacks – tied for second-most sacks in a single season in NFL history.

FanSided’s Matt Lombardo reported back in March that the Indianapolis Colts were interested in a reunion with Houston prior to the new league year beginning, but a deal has yet to materialize, which could put him in the NY Giants’ crosshairs.

Houston might not be the same guy he was all those years ago, but he does bring a veteran presence to this young Giants team. He has the technique to get after quarterbacks.
