The NY Giants boast a defensive secondary flooded with talent.

From cornerbacks James Bradberry and Adoree’ Jackson, to safeties Logan Ryan and Jabrill Peppers, defensive coordinator Patrick Graham has plenty of playmakers to put on the field.

Another impressive defensive back from that group is rookie Aaron Robinson, who was selected 71st overall out of UCF in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The former Knight is a versatile defensive back with both inside and out potential, according to NFL Analyst Lance Zierlein. With Bradberry and Jackson likely locking down the boundary cornerback positions, that leaves a battle for nickel snaps between Darnay Holmes and Robinson.

Holmes is heading into his second year as a pro, and in year one, was solid for the Giants. He led all rookie defensive backs in targets without allowing a touchdown, per Pro Football Focus, and recorded 30 tackles to go along with one interception in 12 games.

Through his play in year one, Holmes has proven himself to at least be a serviceable option with upside in the slot. If Robinson wants to unseat him, he must have a strong camp.

Moreover, if Robinson can find success in the leadup to the season, Graham could use him all over the field to spell players like Bradberry, Jackson, Peppers and others.

Robinson’s rookie training camp will be huge for him if he wants to receive a significant amount of snaps to start his NFL career.
