NY Giants training camp opens this week, where roster spots will be won and lost ahead of the 2021 NFL season

After an offseason of big spending, the NY Giants’ have dramatically boosted the talent level from top to bottom entering the 2021 season, which will make for some intense competition for jobs during training camp.

Quickly surveying the Giants‘ offensive and defensive depth charts, a case can be made that fewer than 10 roster spots are actually up for grabs this summer.

This is what the fruit of a multi-offseason rebuild looks like.

Here’s a look at our latest NY Giants 53-man roster projection as training camp opens:

Quarterbacks (2): Daniel Jones, Mike Glennon

Outside looking in: Clayton Thorson

Nothing matters more to the NY Giants’ postseason hopes in 2021, nor the trajectory of the franchise, than Jones making a significant leap in his third season and proving he can develop into an elite quarterback of the future.

Glennon is a proven veteran and solid backup. There really is little need for the NY Giants to carry a third quarterback, but there’s a chance Thorson surfaces as the practice squad QB.
