NY Giants tight end Evan Engram made his first career Pro Bowl in 2020, can he be a fantasy football success story in 2021?

I learned my fantasy football lesson last year with NY Giants tight end Evan Engram.

Believed in him. Drafted him. Started him. Lost with him.

Engram, by now, should be a solid fantasy TE option, but his incinsistent play has frustrated both Giants fans and fantasy owners for the better part of the last three seasons.

If you are bold and like risky plays, Engram might be your guy.

He has the talent and he has flashed over the years at times. But, if he couldn’t do it last year as a main target, good luck this season with Saquon Barkley back and the additions of Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney cutting into Engram’s target share.

I am not drafting NY Giants TE Evan Engram this in fantasy football.

Been there, done that, got burned.

Instead, I will be targeting players like Miami Dolphins TE, Mike Gesicki, Philadelphia Eagles TE, Dallas Goedert and the Vikings TE, Irv Smith Jr.

Draft Evan Engram at your own risk. Buyer beware, just add agita

2021 Fantasy Football Outlook via ESPN:

"Engram was the No. 5-scoring fantasy TE as a rookie in 2017, but hasn’t been able to match that success in three seasons since. The former first-round pick ranked seventh in fantasy PPG in both 2018 and 2019, but missed 13 games during the span. In 2020, he finally appeared in 16 games and finished no lower than sixth in routes, targets and receptions, but his efficiency plummeted, which left him with a 15th-place fantasy showing. Engram scored six TDs as a rookie, but has seven total the past three seasons. He led all TEs in drops (eight) and was near the basement in catch rate and YPT in 2020. Engram’s raw skills supply him with upside, but after his 2020 struggles and with Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney and Kyle Rudolph now in the mix, the 27-year-old is best-viewed as a good TE2."

Fantasy Food For Thought:

Evan Engram is the final year of his rookie contract. If he has a goal of getting a big pay day in 2022, the time is now for Engram to fulfill his potential and become a consistent weapon for Daniel Jones and the New York Giants.
