It appears that NY Giants offensive guard Shane Lemieux’s knee injury is not season-ending, after being carted off from Thursday’s training camp practice
The NY Giants and offensive guard Shane Lemieux appear to have avoided the worst.
Lemieux, who was carted off from Thursday’s practice with a knee injury, received an encouraging update from Giants head coach Joe Judge prior to Friday’s practice.
"“The worst case scenario looks to have been avoided,” Judge told reporters Friday morning. “We’re happy about that. In terms of trying to come out here and make a diagnosis on Shane, we’ll have to wait and see.“The one thing about Shane, he’s like a wild animal. He’d chew his leg off to get through a bear trap if he’d have to. Him not being out here is driving him nuts. He’s already been in my office talking about how fast he can get back”"
The fact that Lemieux appears to have avoided a torn ACL or any other injury that would have knocked him out of the 2021 NFL season is monumental news for the NY Giants’ offensive line.
Impact of Shane Lemieux’s injury on NY Giants’ offensive line
Already a group that has plenty of pressure on it to make significant improvements this upcoming season, in order for the stars at the offensive skill positions to reach their potential, losing Lemieux would have been catastrophic.
“My message to him is always; ‘when the trainers say you’re healthy enough to get back on the field, we’ll get you back on the field.'”
According to multiple reports, Lemieux was out watching practice with his teammates, which is an encouraging sign in and of itself.
