NY Giants Starting Running Back: Saquon Barkley

Analysis:

Despite all the reports, rumors, and uncertainty, expect Barkley to still lead the Giants’ running backs room this season. Barkley may not practice or play at all come August in training camp and the preseason.

That is fine.

Barkley needs optimal time to recover to the fullest of his ability. He doesn’t need to take a snap in August as long as he’s ready to play come September 12th for Week 1.

If Barkley returns to his old self, watch out.

Barkley is still a home run threat every time the ball’s in his hands. He’ll be the most important player on this offense if he can still be an every-game 100-yard+ threat. Look for Saquon’s return to the field to be one of the top NY Giants storylines in the next coming weeks.
