The NY Giants added many new faces to the team this offseason, will they lead to a return to the NFL postseason?
The NY Giants went out and made a splash this offseason.
They were surprisingly aggressive in free agency, they re-signed players of their own, and they also added draft picks both in 2021 and for the future.
It was as exciting an offseason the Giants have had in a while. The optimism surrounding this team is higher than it’s been in probably five years.
The Giants wisely maneuvered an unprecedented offseason financially both in the short-term and long-term outlooks. It was a case of good timing meeting value and need for the Giants’ front office. They identified targets in free agency in the draft, and they seemingly have capitalized on their plans for the 2021 offseason.
Here’s a look at the top players the NY Giants added this offseason.
Top Newcomer #3: Adoree’ Jackson
Adoree’ Jackson is a big reason why so many people are excited about the Giants’ secondary this year.
For the first time in a while, the NY Giants are deep at cornerback.
New York has two legitimate, veteran starters on the outside in James Bradberry and now Adoree’. Alongside them will be Darnay Holmes and Aaron Robinson patrolling the slot duties.
Adoree’ is a legitimate #1 cornerback when healthy. If he can avoid his injury plagues from recent seasons, he and Bradberry can form one of the top 1-2 punches in the league at cornerback.
Adoree’ will bring much-needed speed, ball skills, and man coverage ability to the Giants. All three key skills were missing from any of their rotating group of #2 cornerbacks from last year. Look for Adoree’ to shine and make plays all over the Giants defense in 2021.
