Daniel Jones, red zone offense improves:

The NY Giants’ offense has gone through a series of fits and starts throughout this training camp, but seemed to make some strides Wednesday evening, especially in the red-zone.

Late in the practice, Jones hit tight end Cole Hikutini for a touchdown during an 11-on-11 period, and hit Sterling Shepard for a nice completion during the series, as well.

Jones’ best throw of the night was a nicely placed ball in between defenders to Darius Slayton down the sideline.

Wednesday night, Jones unofficially finished 9-of-12 with one touchdown, including the aforementioned drop by Engram during seven-on-seven.

This has been a solid stretch of practices over the past week for Jones, but one thing to watch is how long the young quarterback has held the ball during seven-on-seven periods, which again happened Wednesday night as he scrambled around in the backfield before missing Slayton.
