Following the additions of Kenny Golladay and first-round rookie Kadarius Toney, the NY Giants’ wide receiver room is suddenly a crowded one, and this is a position where jobs will be at an extreme premium on cutdown day next month.

However, especially after John Ross suffered an injury this week, Dante Pettis has made a strong case to push for the NY Giants’ No. 5 wide receiver spot.

A standout special teams player, Pettis even has gotten some first-team reps in Ross’ absence and drawn a solid amount of targets from Daniel Jones.

It still might be an uphill climb, given Ross’ speed and first-round pedigree could push him over the top in any roster competition, but if Pettis continues to show strong practices and an ability to contribute on offense, he’s going to make it a tough conversation for the coaching staff.
