David Sills, C.J. Board make their case

It’s going to be an uphill climb for any wide receiver to make the NY Giants’ roster coming out of this camp.

That’s just the reality after the NY Giants signed Kenny Golladay and drafted Toney No. 20 overall, there might be only two jobs up for grabs over the next three weeks.

Saturday night, Sills and Board each flashed.

Sills continues to look like a smooth route-runner with a knack for getting open, pulling down two catches for 12 yards. Meanwhile, Board showed some speed on an end-around that went for 12 yards.

With 10:00 remaining in the fist half, Sills beat Jets cornerback Brandin Echols by half a step, and very nearly made a one-handed catch falling out of bounds in the end zone, but drew a defensive pass interference.

Board has a legitimate chance to make the roster because of his special teams prowess, but it might take a few more big plays on offense to solidify his spot on the team.

Strangely, and noteworthily, Darius Slayton played in this game, and was the only skill player projected to be a starter to play on offense.
