Corey Clement – NY Giants RB

Saquon Barkley has already been ruled out for Saturday night’s game, which means the audition both for the role as his top understudy, and precious roster spots near the bottom of the running back depth chart will take centerstage.

Clement has shown some explosiveness, and gotten his fair share of snaps with the first-team offense as Barkley continues to work himself back to full-strength, and a full workload. Meanwhile, Devontae Booker has been somewhat inconsistent, and has lost several fumbles, including one on his first carry during Wednesday night’s practice at MetLife Stadium.

If Clement carries his impressive showing in practice into the preseason, he has a very real possibility to secure the NY Giants’ No. 2 running back job, after signing as a tryout player during New York’s rookie minicamp this spring.
