Cole Hikutini – NY Giants TE

Tight ends have been dropping like flies at NY Giants camp this summer.

However, one player who has risen to the occasion and been a practice standout has been Cole Hikutini.

Hikutini might be the MVP of this training camp, so far.

During Wednesday night’s open practice at MetLife Stadium, Hikutini caught a touchdown pass from Daniel Jones during a red-zone period late in practice, one day after pulling down arguably Jones’ strongest pass of the season, a back-shoulder throw along the sideline in a tight window for a big gain.

It would seem Evan Engram isn’t going anywhere, the the coaching staff is high on Kaden Smith, but Hikutini could push Smith for the No. 3 tight end job, and has been the most consistent of the tight ends on the field, and should see an extended opportunity against the Jets as Kyle Rudolph remains on PUP.
