Behind Nick Gates, the NY Giants’ are a mess at center.

Following Zach Fulton’s retirement, and Jonotthan Harrison remaining sidelined due to injury, don’t be surprised if Brett Heggie gets the majority of snaps in Saturday night’s game.

Nick Gates is established as the NY Giants’ starting center, but Heggie has the opportunity to win the job as his top backup with a strong preseason. Or at least to push for a spot on the 53-man roster until the team possibly mines the waiver wire for a veteran upgrade.

Nevertheless, there is much at stake Saturday night for Heggie, who was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Florida this spring.
