Stock Down: Matt Peart, OT

The NY Giants’ offensive line is the most misaligned, scrutinized position group on the team. The five hogmollies upfront will sink or swim the entire offense.

Matt Peart didn’t help his case to lock down the starting right tackle spot Saturday.

The NY Giants started the game off by receiving the opening kickoff and rolled out their offense. The first two plays were both incomplete passes. On 3rd and 10, Mike Glennon got sacked almost immediately out of his dropback. Matt Peart got beat off the edge pretty quickly and far too easily.

The defender beat Peart cleanly right from the get-go. It was a troubling development for all involved with the Giants to see such a massive and simple breakdown occur so fast. It’s never ideal to start a football game with two incompletions and a sack to go three and out. The Giants must avoid these situations more in 2021 and Matt Peart needs to help be a part of the solution, not the problem.
