The NY Giants traded for former Houston Texans cornerback Keion Crossen on Monday, aiming to bolster secondary and special teams depth

The NY Giants continued to churn the bottom of the roster on Monday, acquiring former Houston Texans cornerback Keion Crossen, sources confirmed to FanSided.

Monday’s trade was first reported by Pro Football Focus.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports that the NY Giants traded the Texans a 2023 sixth-round pick.

Arguably the deepest position already on the roster, the former seventh-round pick of the New England Patriots reunites with NY Giants head coach Joe Judge, where he’ll have the chance to contribute on special teams.

Crossen, 27, finished last season with 27 total tackles, made five run-stops, and finished the season with a 61.5 coverage grade from PFF, while holding opposing quarterbacks to a 83.2 passer rating.

The Texans traded for Crossen in 2019 and he was one of Houston’s top cover cornerbacks last season, an area that the NY Giants clearly are aiming to improve after investing multiple draft picks at cornerback over the past two seasons, even after signing James Bradberry and Adoree’ Jackson in consecutive free agency periods.

In 43 career games, Crossen has produced 73 total tackles, and broken up six passes.
