Odenigbo signed a one-year $2.5 million contract with the Giants.  He is being asked to change positions to a stand up 3-4 edge rusher from a career of being a hand on the ground 4-3 edge rusher.

Not an easy change.

Odenigbo has been inconsistent in his career, having a breakout year in 2019 with seven sacks. This would be the kind of production the NY Giants are hoping for if Obenigbo makes the roster.

The competition is stiff as the NY Giants are still waiting for consistency from Lorenzo Carter and Oshane Ximines. New York also used draft picks for Azeez Ojulari and Elerson Smith, who has been injured for much of camp.

Odenigbo could use a big game against the Cleveland Browns to show that he has learned the position and is ready to prove that he can find that form he was in 2019.  Born in raised in Bayonne, New Jersey with Nigerian roots Odengibo could fill a nice depth role for the Giants and help with pass rush.
