2) Saquon Barkley – NY Giants
This season is all about Barkley proving to the NY Giants that he can stay fully healthy, and return to his dominant pre-injury form.
When healthy, there’s little questioning that Barkley is among the most gifted and explosive running backs in the league. Unfortunately for Barkley, and the NY Giants, that has now become a going concern.
Last season, Barkley’s 2020 campaign was cut short in the first half of a Week 2 contest against the Chicago Bears, when he tore his ACL, and he also missed three games due to a high ankle sprain that limited him for much of 2019.
Barkley surpassed 1,400 all-purpose yards each of his first two seasons, including bursting onto the scene winning Offensive Rookie of The Year in 2018 with a 2,028-yards from scrimmage campaign.
If Barkley can return to that form, he’ll regain his place in the conversation among the game’s elite running backs and likely be primed to become the highest-paid player in the history of the game at the position.
